Flying with Service Animals at JetBlue

It is not always the case, but there are some cases in which passengers have a service animal, and of course, they need to take it with them onboard. Many arilines welcome service animals, and one of them is JetBlue. This American airline provides different assitance services to make its clients feel like at home, and they also accept service animals to make its clients with disabilities feel comfortable too.

JetBlue allows passengers to board the cabin together with their service animals free of charge with their plane tickets. This is good news, as is the fact that not only they accept one per person with disabilities, but they will do their best to accommodate passengers in case a passenger needs to take two or more animals with him or her. This is not always easy since there might be some inconveniences. For instance, there are some safety regulations that must be abided by, such as the FAA safety regulations. In order to comply with them, passengers are likely to need to buy a second seat so as to accommodate the animal. If the passenger has more than one animals and they cannot be accommodated in a single seat, the passenger will likely have to wait for the next flight.

There are some safety restrictions at JetBlue. One of them is that the safety animal cannot be an unusual animal. That is, it cannot be a dangerous animal like snakes or spiders, for example, since it would pose a threat to the health or safety of other passengers in the cabin. Also, the animal must be placed within the aircraft in an area where it does not obstruct an emergency exit or area like an aisle. Some small animals are allowed to travel on their owner's lap. Further, all service animals should have their identifier, harness, or the “credible verbal assurances of a qualified individual with a disability using the animal.” Otherwise, they will not be accepted by JetBlue. Neither accepted are those animals that are still on training to become service animals. The airline will accept those animals that provide necessary assistance to their owner. That is, some of these animals might not be needed during the flight, so their owners cannot be by themselves. Some animals, for example, provide stability, or guide their blind owners.



There are other types of service animals: Emotional support service animals. These are not generally trained to perform their job, which is providing emotional support to people who have an emotional or mental disorder. However, they do have to be trained to behave in public places. These animals are also accepted by JetBlue. For international flights, passengers with service animals will need to comply with health documentation requirements. Each country might have their own pet importation requirements so it is the client's responsibility to learn about them and acquire all the proper documentation needed before they fly with an animal. Aerolineas Plus: Conditions of Use

Aerolineas Plus is a reward program by which clients can earn points that they can later exchange for free flight tickets. Knowing exactly how it works and what are the conditions of use of this program is important in order to benefiting from it as much as possible. This article will provide some information on the conditions to use this program called Aerolineas Plus.

 Members of Aerolineas Plus should keep in mind that they are going to need their Aerolineas Argentinas Plus card to participate in the program since it identifies the holder. The card is personal and has an expiration date.

As regards how to earn miles, members will earn miles by flying with any of the partner airlines and the holder is the only one who can accrue miles. Members can also accrue miles by purchasing the services provided by the associated companies. In order to know how many miles the member will earn, there is a Miles Accrual Table which states the number of miles that are earned per flight or service. Aerolineas Argentinas has a right to change this table whenever it considers it is necessary, and it will inform its clients about this change and its effective date. Also, its is important to notice that members will not accrue miles in case they buy a ticket with discounts or any similar other.


Members need to inform their Aerolineas Plus membership whenever they make a booking in order to accrue miles, and they will also need to show their membership card when checking in. It is a must that they present their membership card at the moment of buying the flights or services or their miles will not be earned. Members should verify their miles are properly credited by phoning or checking in the airline's web site. It is advised that members keep their tickets and boarding passes so that they can present them and claim that there has been a mistake in their miles accrual. Sometimes the holder will be asked to send a copy of these documents to the airlne’s offices in Buenos Aires. Each month that there has been a mileage movement, memnbers will be sent an Account statement. This will include all the information about the number of miles that they have earned for their purchases.

If after three years there has been no miles earned or spent, all miles that have been earned previously will expire. This is an issue that members should bear in mind and also that it is not possible to tranfer the miles of one member to another one. In case the holder does not want to be a member anymore, he or she can send a written notification to the airline's service center, and the membership card cut in half should also be sent.

The Aerolineas Plus program provides members with many benefits that translate in saving money. Just like any other program, it has some conditions of use that members should know if they want to avoid future inconveniences.

One of the many advantages of being an Aerolineas Argentinas client is the benefits that clients can obtain by becoming an Aerolineas Plus member. This program, based on a points system, allows passengers to accrue miles and later exchange them for reward plane tickets. There are different ways of accruing miles, for instance by purchasing a ticket at Aerolineas Argentinas or by purchasing the products or using the services provided by some companies that are partners of Aerolineas Plus. This article will provide some information regarding these patners.

Some of the partner companies that offer their products or services are car rentals, hotel chains, tour operators, and banks. All of them offer discounts for members of Aerolineas Plus, so not only do members accrue miles by purchasing at these companies, but they also save some money.

 One example of car rental partners is Europcar. Members of Aerolineas Plus will enjoy preferential fees for their car rentals, and they will also earn 150 miles per each day they rent a car. This is an important advantage but there are some restrictions regardinf the number of miles that passengers can accrue: there is a maximum of 18 days to accrue miles. Another rental car partner is Alamo. This is a worldwide famous company. Members who rent cars at Alamo earn 100 miles per car rental day, or they can choose to earn 75 miles only, and have access to promotional fees. The company will provide clients with these benefits only if they present their membership card at the moment of the booking of the service.


 Optar is one of the our operator partners of the program. Whenerver members book a tourist service of at least 2 days, they will earn extra miles on the presentation of their membership card. For instance, members will earn 100 miles for each single occupancy booking, and 75 miles for each double occupancy booking.

 One of the hotel chains partnes of Aerolineas Plus is Hilton Worldwide. Members will earn a different amount of miles, depending on the hotel that they choose to stay at.
